TypeBeat: A Wednesday to Remember

Walking into this event, my goal was to make and capture fun memories. Producers from the crowd stepped up to the aux and played beats while audience members shopped in-store.

The “TypeBeat” showcase, hosted at the Vinyl Index, featured three fun producers who have been seen throughout the music scene these past few years. From online conversations with Kid Cudi (see photo below) to beats on the beach, it is common to find these producers doing more than just cooking in the studio.

Hold It Down

Haasan Barclay, DEPHRASE, and Rilla Force were the highlights of the event. Each of them played unique and energetic beats on Wednesday, December 18th. The welcoming space, also supported by LDER and Carlito Blu, kept people nodding their heads throughout the night.

Although it was raining, its the excitement and interactions with each other, exchanging ideas, that made it feel like a sunny day. It was great to hear hot demos and see the friendly competition.

This event is expected to return bi-monthly. The producer community on the East Coast is alive and well. Join the people behind the scenes who make events like this possible and get ready for more good news.
